With the emergence of Bangladesh as an independent nation in 1971,
Dhaka became overnight an important national capital from
a small regional city. The economy of the country rapidly
changed with the fast expansion of International Trade and
Commerce. During this period the Ready Made Garment Industry
witnessed an incredible boom. The export of Ready Made
Garments soon became a major foreign exchange earner for
the new nation. As a result the volume of International Freight
Forwarding business increased significantly.
We started air transport business back in 1976, initially in the
passenger sector. As the demand for the air cargo movement increased
with the development of Ready Made Garment industry in Bangladesh,
we extended our operation into international air as well as ocean
freight forwarding business. In 1983, we were appointed GSA (General
Sales Agent) by the Saudi Arabian Airlines to represent it in Bangladesh
for both passenger and cargo. At the same time we developed business
relations with all major airlines operation ex Bangladesh.
At present, our main concentration is on International Freight Forwarding.
We are proud that today International Cargo Limited (ICL) is considered
as one of the largest and well –reputed Freight Forwarding
companies in Bangladesh with a long tradition of dedication, honesty
and efficiency.
